In great white sharks, sexual dimorphism is present, and females are generally larger than males. Male great whites on average measure to  m (11 to 13 ft) long, while females at to  m (15 to 16 ft). [6] Adults of this species weigh 522–771 kg (1,151–1,700 lb) on average, [30] however mature females can have an average mass of 680–1,110 kg (1,500–2,450 lb). [5] The largest females have been verified up to  m (20 ft) in length and an estimated 1,950 kg (4,300 lb) in weight, [3] [4] [5] perhaps up to 2,268 kg (5,000 lb). [31] The maximum size is subject to debate because some reports are rough estimations or speculations performed under questionable circumstances. [32] Among living cartilaginous fish , only the whale shark ( Rhincodon typus ), the basking shark ( Cetorhinus maximus ) and the giant manta ray ( Manta birostris ), in that order, average larger and heavier. These three species are generally quite docile in disposition and given to passively filter-feeding on very small organisms. [30] This makes the great white shark the largest extant macropredatory fish. Great white sharks are at around  m ( ft) when born, and grow about 25 cm ( in) each year. [33]

One Scout is given time to go out and hide himself. The remainder then start to find him. The object of the hidden Scout is to got back to the starting-place as soon as he can without being caught. The seekers advance from the starting-place in a circle, gradually expanding outward so the further the Scout goes from home to hide himself, the further apart the seekers will be when they reach his hiding-place, but he will then have a longer distance to go to reach home again.

Lemon and his mate were at last tracked to this hut: Lemon was shot, and the companion was forced to cut off his head, place it in a bag, and march with it to Hobart between his two captors. But punishment of this kind, brutal as it may seem, was courtesy compared to the deeds of the bushrangers themselves. Dunne, one of Brady's gang (whose depredations are narrated in another chapter) was loathed even by some of his mates. One case will serve to show the villain's cruelty. When out in the bush he sought to get hold of a rather good-looking black gin, who was living with her husband, but the blackfellow naturally objected. With scant ceremony Dunne put a rifle bullet through the objector's breast. The poor gin, heartbroken at the death of her husband, refused to leave the mutilated body; but with devilish brutality Dunne cut off the blackfellow's head, drilled a hole through it, and suspended it by a string round the neck of the outraged wife. Drawing his knife he drove her onward at its point to his bush retreat—the den, indeed, of a tiger.

Kallen is a young Britannian - Japanese woman, who believes herself to be Japanese at heart and prefers to be known by her Japanese mother's name. Her mother is an Eleven who stayed with her children for most of their lives. Her brother, Naoto Kōzuki (紅月ナオト, Kōzuki Naoto ), with whom she had a deep connection, was a former leader of a resistance organization before his death. After his death, Kallen became a member of the same guerilla resistance group against Britannia, which would later be reformed into the Order of the Black Knights by Lelouch Lamperouge several years later.
